I have always been a huge fan of eyelash extensions. For several years I wore them, but stopped for a couple of years to care for my own. I started back wearing them a few months ago off and on…as needed, unlike wearing them every single day as I did in the past. There’s something about long, lush, dark, thick lashes that seem to complete your face. Whether you wear makeup or not, those lash extensions just make your eyes say ‘Look at me’. I mean think about it, if you’re wearing no makeup other than mascara and lip gloss, something about that mascara just make your eyes stand out. Well lash extensions do the same…only ten time more!
As I said before, I only wear them when needed. I use them whenever I have a photo shoot or if G. Boo and I are going out. I used to wear them all the time and sleep in them as well. Not anymore. I started noticing my own lashes were thinning out and getting shorter. And because of this, I felt like I couldn’t stop wearing them because I needed to cover the damage they’d caused. And one day I just decided I was not going to wear them anymore and try to care for my own to get them back in a healthy state. While on my break, I used Black Jamaican Castor Oil on them every night. This really helped a lot. I eventually got them back to the way they were. Actually they are a lot thicker than before.
While lash extensions are gorgeous and all, you MUST care for your own lashes. When removing them, ALWAYS use some kind of oil to loosen the adhesive completely. IF I sleep in them, the only excuse is because I’m having photo shoots back to back. In other words, I don’t suggest sleeping in them. And never wear them everyday. I’ve learned the hard way this isn’t healthy for your own lashes…which is why I haven’t gone to get the semi-permanent lashes.
Do you ever wear eyelash extensions? If so, what kind of experiences have you had. If not, have you been thinking about trying them out? Either way, I hope I’ve given you insight on my experiences and tips.
Thank you so much for reading. And as always, have a beautiful day!
I’ve only worn Kiss Trio lash extensions. They are much easier to apply than the singles and strips. For some reason, I could never really apply the strips without making a mess.
These can be purchased at any drugstore and beauty supply store.
