Hi there! And welcome to the first post of Keeping Up With Candy (KUWC going forward). I am super excited about this blog so thank you for stopping by. Grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine and stay a while!
I’m an Atlanta-based blogger, but am spending the Thanksgiving week in Memphis, my hometown. Let me tell you, I was pretty worried about the temps in the South. It’s been unseasonably warm with temps running in the 80s. But thank God that finally change this past Saturday and temps were in the lower 50. But what do you know, they rose back up and today’s high is 71ish. I was honestly hoping to bundle up for ‘normal’ November temps because I mean…it’s Thanksgiving. But that’s not happening. Which is fine. #compromise
So instead of bundling up, I just kept those layers
I planned on wearing in the closet. Top, jeans, blanket scarf, and knee-high boots…Viola, I’ve got myself a cute and casual Thanksgiving day outfit. It’s actually perfect because it can get pretty warm in the kitchen and having additional family and friends in the house, right? And if it gets too warm, I can remove my scarf while still looking stylish and comfortable! Wearing this casual outfit is perfect because I’m sure there will be lots of picture-taking, seeing loved ones I haven’t seen in a while, and room for stomach-stretching (I’ll TRY not to overeat). So comfort is key while still looking cute!
Thanks so much for reading! I’d love to hear what you plan on wearing today for Thanksgiving. And make sure you be on the lookout for my gift guide on tomorrow’s post.
