Getting to Know Candy: 10 Things You Don’t Know About Me

Blue and White Midi Dress

I was going to do a write-up about this gorgeous dress. But then I got to thinking how I want my followers and readers to get to know me a little better. Last week, I got a bit personal with you and got a LOT of awesome feedback from you here and on Facebook. And I love how so many of you got personal right back at me. You honestly made me feel special. So today, I am going to share ten things about me that you probably don’t know. I wanted to do twenty, but it’s 9:50 pm and I want to watch TV!

I would LOVE for you to comment at the end of the post and tell me one thing about yourself. Deal?

Sooo, here we go!Blue and White Midi Dress 1. I’ve always wanted to learn to play the harmonica. I’ve always been mesmerized by the sound of it. Whenever I hear songs by Stevie Wonder, the Eurythmics, or Huey Lewis & the News, I’m always waiting for the harmonica!

Blue and White Midi Dress 2. I hate hearing children cry or holler…especially on an airplane. And I don’t mean that in a good way! The sound of kids irk me and upsets me tremendously. And what’s crazy about that is I have three kids of my own. So how is it possible for this to rub me the wrong way?!? Blue and White Midi Dress 3. Lobster tails is my absolute favorite thing to eat. I wont order one when in a restaurant on purpose. If I love it so much, then why not order it if it’s on the menu? Well, I can’t eat just one! I refuse to pay, at a minimum, $35 for one lobster tail. If I eat lobster tails out, it’s always at an all-you-can-eat joint! Now, I will pay $100 to eat at a place like this because I eat on average 6-7 lobster tails. So it’s worth it for me.

Quick Story: The first trip George and I took together was to Cancun. He knew I loved lobster tails. So he researched places ahead of time that served them in the area. At dinner, he ordered me a 50 oz lobster tail but didn’t order anything for himself…which was unusual because he LOVES to eat!!! When my meal came, I was all excited and was getting ready to dig in. And then I heard a voice say ‘Cut half of that for me’. I raised my head in super slow moion to look at him and told him I don’t share lobster tails. Once he realized I was serious, he ordered a meal for himself. We STILL laugh at this story!!!

Blue and White Midi Dress 4. My dream job is to be a Karma bus driver! The things I hate with a passion are people who do wrong, mistreat others, kill, backstab friends, racists…just gutter people. I truly believe in you reap what you sow whether it be good or bad. And I would just love to drive Karma around to make her visits!Blue and White Midi Dress 5. I love white! White clothes, white furniture, white linen, white dishes and serveware. When it comes to home interior, I just really prefer white. White is just so clean and crisp. And it’s sooo easy to change it up with pops of colors…bright colors, pastels, grays, wood tones…any color or pattern pairs with white perfectly.Blue and White Midi Dress 6. I am a huge lover of kitchen buys! I can honestly say I have a problem with kitchen-ware purchases. I am always in HomeGoods or online finding stuff I don’t need. When George asks about this or that, I always reply with something like ‘Oh Babe, I unpacked that from storage’ or ‘My mom sent this’. Always work like a charm!Blue and White Midi Dress 7. I’ve always hated my legs, arms, and mouth. I talk about this a lot so you may have already known that about me. I have a large upper body and skinny legs. They call this an inverted body type (Upside down triangle). I’ve always wished I had large chunky legs and a small upper body. But ugh, I got this body!!! And my mouth, up until about four months ago, whenever I smiled, it was ALWAYS a ‘toothless’ smile because I’ve always hated my ‘toothy’ smile. For years, I would stand in the mirror practicing my smile and I was never satisfied. So I just stuck with the ‘toothless’ smile. Even though I’m learning how to ‘toothy’ smile, most of my photos are ‘toothless’ smiles. I’m still a bit self-conscious about it.Blue and White Midi Dress 8. About four years ago, I started writing a book. It’s loosely based on the lives of my friends and me. It’s a funny and feel-good type manuscript. I haven’t added to it in about two years. I’m hoping next year I can start back up on it.Blue and White Midi Dress 9. I had lasik eye surgery a few years ago. I always thought it was the best investment I ever made. I went from being almost legally blind (I’m sure I was thisclose to it) to better than 20-20 vision. I never knew that even existed!Blue and White Midi Dress 10. I wear extensions! All! The! Time! And I love them! I don’t know if I will EVER wear my own hair!Blue and White Midi DressDress (under $15)| Purse | Earrings | Ring

Oh so many cool things about you! I love that you had a success story with the laser surgery and now you have incredible vision!

Wow! I’ve thought about doing a post like this, but have a fear of doing so. But these things about you are amazing! First, did you use white to decorate with kids? How did you keep it clean?? I’m OCD, so while I love it, I can’t do it because stains would haunt me. Also, I’d love to have your body! You look amazing, lady! I’m tall and built like an Amazon with a little extra in the middle. So be proud! And I don’t do toothy smiles either. Can’t stand how my smile looks. Granted, I don’t like my smile to be too large anyhow as my face scrunches up and looks like a hawks. Thank you for the candid view in YOU!

      1. Just share what you’d like people to know about you…what you’re comfortable with sharing.
      2. My living room is white and it is MY room! If the kids come in, no food-no drinks is the policy.
      3. It’s pretty amazing how we don’t like what we have but the next person would love to have it. I’m forever complaining about my body. We’ve just got to love what we have and attempt to change (workout) what we don’t.
      4. Thank you so VERY much for stopping by for this wonderful comment.

Your dress is beautiful, Candy! I find the harmonica an intriguing instrument to play, too. It has always amazed me how artists like Stevie Wonder are able to create beautiful songs with a harmonica. I hope you are able to finish writing your book. I’ve always wanted to write a book but finding the time to do it has been a big hurdle for me.

That dress is gorgeous and hugs your curves in all the right places. Good luck on your book and, I’m with you, my nerves unravel when kids start screaming.

Love this style! And yes, I agree with you about kids screaming. The high piercing sound actually hurts my ears and gives me an instant headache ?

How cool to know some random bits about yourself!
You shouldn’t be so harsh on your body, especially because you are a beautiful woman!! Don’t be so perfectionist ?
One thing about me: I don’t like to brag, and I even avoid speaking about my good qualities and skills. That misleads the people who meet me, I am mostly intellectual kind of person, but most people think I’m totally dumb!!!
