Believe in Yourself, Babe

Believe in Yourself, Babe

If you follow me on Instagram (and you should be!!!), you will see on yesterday’s post I talked about believing in yourself. The quote was:

‘There are people less qualified than you doing the things you want to do, simply because they believe in themselves. Believe in yourself, Babe! PERIOD!’

I know a lot of you are not bloggers. But in the blogging world, it’s so easy to look at other bloggers who are further ahead in the game than you or who are ‘better’ than you. So when I saw this quote, it kinda hit me pretty hard. In my experience, most bloggers aren’t willing to help you or give you ‘the secret’ to how they moved to the next level. So you’re always alone trying to figure it out yourself. For me, I always feel like if I don’t know what I don’t know, then how am I supposed to know.

And when I see the same group of bloggers hanging out together, collaborating together, and going on group trips together, I always question why I can’t find my own group of female fashion bloggers to call my friends and do these things with.

I let myself have a pity party for a few moments. And you know what? That’s what causes fire under my feet. Not that I don’t believe in myself, but it makes me believe in myself more. After having those thoughts, I research. I have a renewed sense of vigor. I know I have goals and my pity party (along with prayer) pushes me to do what it is I need to do to get to that next level…even if it probably isn’t the way ‘those’ girls did it.

No matter your situation in ‘that’ area of life, believing in yourself is a MUST! If you don’t believe in yourslef, heck no one else probably will. So yeah, it’s ok to sometimes feel bad about certain situations in life. Just don’t get stuck there. Those bad situations and (believing in yourself) should lift you up and help push you out of the rut you’re in. No one wants to be stuck in whatever bad or so-so situation they’re in. So…

Believe in yourself, Babe!

There’s an old saying from years ago which went – “you gotta believe”. So don’t give up!

I hear you Candy. Finding a blogging tribe that’s there for you and shares all the things they’ve learnt without feeling threatened makes the world of difference. It’s give and take all the way, but it’s really special when you do find them. And I really hope that you find yours, because I absolutely believe in you and I’m no fashion blogger. I just love the way you dress ❤

Awww, thank you so much Michelle!!! I’m sure someday soon I will meet and connect with a couple of blogger friends I’m looking for. You’re just the sweetest!

  3. October 30, 2017 / 10:43 am

Believing in yourself is so important. I admit that sometimes it is hard not to compare yourself to other bloggers. I have been blogging for almost 10 years! You just have to remember that you are unique. Keep working hard and being true to yourself, it will always work out. And build yourself a tribe. Support each other and share opportunities.

    • October 30, 2017 / 9:58 pm

Ten years?!? Yowsers!!! Congrats on that. Hopefully someday soon I will meet and connect with other like-minded bloggers.

  4. October 30, 2017 / 10:54 am

I love this post and couldn’t agree more. Self confidence is what will get you through in this life!

  5. October 30, 2017 / 11:30 am

Looks comfortable but also classy – something nice to wear on a cool late-summer day to a brunch or lunch meeting. I love the relaxed look of the ripped jeans with the most serious look of the shirt. ?

  6. October 30, 2017 / 12:11 pm

    1. That top is fabulous 2. I totally agree with you. Finding supportive friends, not comparing yourself to others and being your own person is so important!

    • October 30, 2017 / 9:59 pm

      Absolutely! Thanks so much!

  7. October 30, 2017 / 12:19 pm

This shirt is absolutely amazing! I love the design! So unique and bold! Self-confidence is really important and believing that you can do is essential! That’s how you get through life!

  8. October 30, 2017 / 12:54 pm

I just love the way this shirt looks in the back. That clutch is also so cute.

  9. October 30, 2017 / 1:56 pm

Yeeeah, girl! The blogging pressure of how to keep moving up isn’t talked about enough, at least not in the empowering and inspirational way you have. I have the exact same thing, my niche is both small and massive at the same time and there are so many above me that I admire. And yes.. I’ve had my fair share of pity parties which normally only holds back my creativity and productivity. I recently decided to be bold and brave. Normally I am someone who sits wondering why I don’t get opportunities so I sat my butt down and drafted some emails and it all went much better than I had expected. A few years back I would never have reached out -through blogging I gained confidence. Also that top is amazing, you always look so flawlessly beautiful!

    • October 30, 2017 / 10:03 pm

      1. You’re right. The personal side of bloggin isn’t really talked about. So I feel you there. #blogpostinspo
      2. Congrats on gaining enough confidence on pitching! And with better than expected results! That always make ya feel good and gives you an extra boost of confidence.
      3. That is such a sweet compliment…thank you so much!

I totally get that. Blogging is hard and making connections is even harder. Just keep doing what you’re doing!

    • October 30, 2017 / 10:04 pm

I love blogging and don’t think I could do without it. But it can be pretty lonely! Yep, I’m gonna keep on keeping on!

  12. October 30, 2017 / 5:32 pm

This is a gorgeous top! Love this look! And you’re so right – it’s so important to believe in ourselves!

    • October 30, 2017 / 10:05 pm

      Hey, thanks so much Cassie!

  13. October 30, 2017 / 7:00 pm

So truthfully I don’t do ruffles but for some reason, I can totally see myself wearing this. I hope it looks as good on me as it does on you!

    • October 30, 2017 / 10:05 pm

You know what? I’m not into ruffles either because of my body type. But this one I just couldn’t resist!

  14. October 30, 2017 / 8:02 pm

So true. The art of comparison can really mess us up if we are not careful. I love your sense of fashion. So nice!

I(t is so important o believe in yourself. Half the battle is believing you can accomplish something. This is a great outfit on you. I would love to add the top to my wardrobe.

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:43 am

I totally agree. When you believe in yourself, it makes everything else so much more easier.

  16. October 30, 2017 / 10:23 pm

I love that quote! I’m still a pretty new blogger and it can be overwhelming at times. It can also be frustrating because I know where I want my blog to be (and I KNOW it will get there), but it hasn’t gotten there yet. I’d love to find a community of like-minded bloggers to collaborate and travel with. All in good time! ☺️ That top is adorable and I love the shoes! They’re perfect with that ensemble!

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:42 am

I try to remind myself of this too…All in good time! Thanks so much!

  17. October 30, 2017 / 11:19 pm

Keep up the great work, Candy! You have a wonderful spirit!

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:44 am

Awww Mary, thank you so much!!! #kissestoyou

  18. October 31, 2017 / 12:36 am

Believe in yourself will take you the long way and there will be times when everyone would pull you down but if you are confident about yourself you will always shine.

  19. October 31, 2017 / 12:59 am

The blogging community is huge and there will definitely be different people and different groups. I think it’s all about remaining confident and believing in what you can do! This is such a good message for all bloggers out there.

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:44 am

Amen Sister!!! Thank you so much!

  20. October 31, 2017 / 1:08 am

My husband tells me frequently that he thinks I underrate my skills. Since he is a talented IT Geek and has worked as an engineer for both Dell and Microsoft, that means a lot. Sometimes we just need to hear it. I love the ripped jeans. Distressed jeans are my fave.

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:45 am

Dell and Microsoft?!? Well aren’t you the lucky gal!!!!!

  21. October 31, 2017 / 3:32 am

I love this look! I don’t know if I could pull off the ruffles but it looks great on you! Stripes are also a classy basic for all seasons.

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:46 am

I agree! Stripes is such a classic staple. I’m not typically into ruffles. But I couldn’t resist this one since the ruffles were at the bottom of the top. Enjoy your day!

Believing in yourself is definitely key! I also see the people that are always doing things together and would love to find something like that. I’m close though!

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:48 am

I’m sure over time we will find our OWN special group of blogger friends!

  24. October 31, 2017 / 9:24 am

What an amazing post. I do understand what you mean here, I go through the same situation most of the days and then comes the thought that I have to believe in myself and keep doing what I am doing now. You look very pretty, the top is very cute.

    • October 31, 2017 / 10:49 am

Yeah, we just can’t get stuck in our rut or pity party. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  25. October 31, 2017 / 9:31 am

What a fantastic post! There are so many times that it is important that we believe in ourselves.

  26. Ronnie
    October 31, 2017 / 10:34 am

Wow, I fully understand what you mean. Sometimes I see posts from bloggers with titles like “How I earned 100k in my first 3 months blogging” and I’m just like WHAT, how is that even possible. I’ve been blogging for ages and I make a nice side income, so all in all, I’m blessed and have a blog that I love. However, as a PR expert, I’m also a skeptic – I don’t always believe that people that claim to be so successful are really doing as well as they claim.

  27. October 31, 2017 / 11:14 am

I adore your outfit! I see you’re in Collierville/Memphis. I’m right around the corner in Southaven! I really love your blog. Glad I found you. This post is exactly what I needed to read, especially with the holidays. I feel like I’m running behind other bloggers right now.

    • November 3, 2017 / 9:43 am

Yeah, blogging can be pretty tough to crack into when you’re comparing yourself to other bloggers who’ve been in the game a while. So I understand where you’re coming from! Just keep doing what you do. And always ask what it is you could do to make your blog better.

  28. October 31, 2017 / 12:11 pm

this outfit is everything. I love the white with the stripes and then a pop of leopard.

  29. October 31, 2017 / 1:17 pm

I love the entire outfit but i really love those pants!!! I agree with you . Blogging can definitely be difficult.

  30. October 31, 2017 / 1:47 pm

I love this outfit out much!

It’s okay to have a pity party from time to time as long as you continue to move forward and don’t get bogged down.

This is such a great post! I love your outfit and your handbag is the bomb!!

  32. October 31, 2017 / 2:28 pm

This is such a nice post! Believing in yourself is half the battle. This can apply to any field! I think it’s also important to remember that most of the time people only post the best things about their lives and not the struggles they went through. Not everyone starts out successful or finds their group of friends right away!

  33. October 31, 2017 / 2:41 pm

That’s a fabulous look Candy! Love the look and loved your post too.

Love this post. You are so right. It’s esdy to get distracted with what’s happening with others. Love your outfit. Super cute.

  35. October 31, 2017 / 5:02 pm

You are such a babe!!! Loving this look! White jeans are my fav! I hear you on feeling alone. I had no idea blogging was such a solitary job! LOL! I am enjoying it though but every now and then (more often than I though) I feel discouraged and simply alone! But, I am with you — I have a huge drive and passion for my purpose, voice, and mission! I am cheering you on and in fact, I am now following you on Instagram! You got this girl! xo

  36. October 31, 2017 / 6:53 pm

I always compare myself to other bloggers! I see bloggers who are so much farther ahead of the game and I want to be at their level. So, I keep plugging away!

I really can relate with you on this , nobody shows you how to move to the next level and you gotta figure it out on your own, I have always wanted to be fashion blogger but frankly don’t know where to start and nobody is teaching, I guess I gotta learn on my own. between I love your outfit especially the top, its simply stunning

  39. November 1, 2017 / 5:00 am

I really like your top, you look so beautiful when you wore it. The diversity of your style is so awesome. I like it.

  41. November 1, 2017 / 7:11 am

That is so true, it’s so hard to get to the next level especially when no one wants to help. It’s important to have fun with blogging and to remember to blog for yourself.

  42. November 1, 2017 / 8:44 am

You always have the cutest looks. I am so in love with those ruffles.

  43. November 1, 2017 / 10:03 am

The thing I love about the blogging world is how much I’ve gotten to know other bloggers. I’ve found that there isn’t as much of an atmosphere of competition. I love that.

One of the important attitudes is to believe ourselves. My dad said to me before that, “You need to believe in yourself, So we can achieve your dreams”. and that’s true!!

  45. November 1, 2017 / 6:19 pm

This look suits you in that it has personality and says you are confident and know who you are.

  46. November 1, 2017 / 9:34 pm

First of all, I love this look on you! Second of all, this post spoke to me! As a small blogger, it can be very easy to feel defeated at times or start to compare yourself to other bloggers! I hope one day to meet a good set of blogger friends who ultimately have the same goal.

    November 2, 2017 / 12:10 am

You are so right Candy. Sometimes we bloggers tend to compare ourselves with other brothers. I agree we need to believe in ourselves. Also, your outfit, especially your top is gorgeous.

  48. November 2, 2017 / 3:18 am

Making your dreams come true begins with a belief in yourself.
